The brace from Robert Lewandowski took the Poland striker pass the 250 mark as far as the number of goals scored in the German Bundesliga is concerned. Robert Lewandowski is only the third player to score 250 or more goals in the history of German club football. Gerd Muller and Klaus Fischer are the other two men to achieve the feat. Gerd Muller scored 365 goals, while Klaus Fischer finished on 268 goals. The win ensured that Bayern Munich kept pace with Leverkusen at the top of the table. They are one point off Bayer Leverkusen after 12 league games.
