Uganda is supposed to play a friendly match with the National team of Poland on 5th of March 2014.
This decision was a result of the failure of the plans that Federation of Uganda Football Association had to play friendly matches with the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is noted from reliable sources at FUFA reveal that initially Uganda had plans to play with Democratic Republic of Congo on that very day but then they opted for Poland because it was very exciting an offer to be turned down.
Initially, Uganda had agreed to the friendly match with DR Congo as it involved very low travel costs but then it was found that Polish FA voluntarily agreed to all incur all the costs for the game, as revealed by an anonymous FUFA official.
The Polish team consists of very notable players such as the Captain, Robert Lewandowski. He is one of the integral part and the best striker for the Polish National Side. In the 2011-12, season he had won the reputed DFB-Pokal Cup. The other players whose presence is vital for the Polish team are Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny, Jakub Błaszczykowski and Eugen Polanski.
This match would give an opportunity to the Uganda Cranes to create an impression on the European Scouts. But there has been some internal unrest in the Poland team where Robert Lewandowski revealed the fact that he had been convinced to join Arsenal by his Polish team mate Wojciech Szczesny. This was told by Lewandowski to the Polish tabloid Fakt. He also mentioned that Szczesny always spoke of how the club was from inside and what Arsène Wenger thought of him.
Nevertheless, for a friendly match that has to be played with Poland will cause the FUFA technical committee to call for a meeting and select a strong team shortly.
